Karen and Hugh met through their shared love of running, including Parkrun in Brighton, and this passion played a part in bringing them together. The couple chose to get married at Pelham House Hotel in Lewes, following a recommendation from Karen’s daughter, Shannon. They also knew others who had celebrated their weddings at the venue. The theme running throughout their wedding was inspired by their engagement in Greece.

The weather was kind, allowing the couple to enjoy all the spaces the venue had to offer, including holding the ceremony in the gardens. It was an emotional occasion, as many guests had not seen each other for years. These are the moments that bring us together.

The wedding culminated in a fantastic evening of music from Worthing-based band Pier Pressure in the Blencowe Room at Pelham House. The band brought a lively mix of rocksteady, 60s ska and soul, alongside their own interpretations of hits from the 80s through to the present day. After the first dance, the guests filled the dance floor, making the evening extra special.
